Perth Amboy Police Make Drug Arrest

PERTH AMBOY – Police arrested a 22-year-old suspect on drug and weapons charges after executing a search warrant at a Patterson Street apartment on Friday afternoon, authorities announced.

Members of the Special Investigations Bureau and the Detective Bureau of the Perth Amboy Police Department executed the warrant on at 5:49 p.m. on March 9. The officers recovered 1,028 grams of marijuana (2.2 lbs.), which has a street value of approximately $16,000, a .22 caliber handgun and ammunition, a stun gun, packaging materials and over $34,000 in cash, authorities said.

Herminio Landeo was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana over 50 grams, Possession with the Intent to Distribute over a half ounce of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon during a CDS offense, & Possession of a Stun Gun.

Judge Allen Comba set bail at $75,000 with no 10 percent option.

The charges against Landeo are merely accusations; all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
