WESTFIELD — A group of eighth grade CYO Basketball players from Holy Trinity Interparochial School in Westfield recently traveled to ESPN Headquarters in Bristol, Conn. to play the Avon Irish, a team from central Connecticut, in a friendly competition.

The event was organized with the assistance of Tom Fitzpatrick, former Westfield resident, currently employed at ESPN as a production assistant. Fitzpatrick, a graduate of Holy Trinity Interparochial School and Saint Peter’s Preparatory School, and his father, Bill Fitzpatrick conceived of an event which would give the young men a chance to play at the ESPN facility and take a tour.
