EDISON–The Edison Police Department is seeking information regarding an unidentified male suspect that burglarized multiple rooms at the Sheraton Hotel, located at 125 Raritan Center Parkway, Edison on Feb. 19 during the late evening hours. The suspect somehow stole a key card belonging to hotel maintenance staff, then began using the key to enter multiple areas of the hotel, including some guest rooms, police said.
At approximately 11:15pm, a 37-year-old female victim visiting the area from Winter Garden, Florida encountered the unknown male suspect in her hotel room, hiding under her bed on the 7th floor of the Sheraton Hotel. The victim then went to use her cell phone and stated she believed someone was under her bed, with that the male suspect came out from under the bed and left the room heading towards a stairwell and out of sight. It appears nothing was stolen from the victim, nor any other guests of the hotel. The victim was uninjured in the incident.
According to police, the suspect is described as a: white male, between 20-30 years of age, with a thin build and dirty blonde spiked hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark colored shirt with a purple design on it, and blue jeans.
