CLARK — Students in Melissa Sakowski’s Kindergarten Class at the Valley Road School in Clark celebrated Read Across America Day by wearing self-created Dr. Seuss hats. Elementary Supervisor Janeen Allmendinger, visited the classroom to read to the kindergartners.

The National Education Association created Read Across America, first held in 1998, as an annual reading motivation day. It is widely celebrated on March 2, the birthday of author Theodor Seuss Geisel who is better known to parents and children as Dr. Seuss.
