MIDDLESEX COUNTY — Five free workshops on the financial aid process in New Jersey will be held at Middlesex County College this spring. They will take place at the college’s main Edison campus, New Brunswick Center and the Perth Amboy Center.

“Applying for financial aid for college can sometimes be a confusing process,” said Marla Brinson, dean of enrollment and student support services at Middlesex. “These workshops are designed to help high school students become familiar with the procedure, promote parental involvement in the college application process, and help students apply for financial aid in a timely manner. These workshops are provided free of charge and are available to any high school student no matter what college or university he or she decides to attend.”

Students should bring a copy of their own and their parents’ 2011 Federal Income Tax Return, including all pages and schedules.

The workshops are funded by a State of New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority grant, called Tools for College Access, and administered by Middlesex County College.

Bilingual assistance is provided at all locations. The sessions will take place at:

  • Perth Amboy Center, Saturday, March 24 and Saturday, April 21 at 9 a.m.
  • New Brunswick Center, Wednesday, April 4 and Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m.
  • Edison Campus, Saturday, April 14, at 9 a.m.
