Mount Saint Mary Student Students Win Top Prizes At Local Art Exhibit

WATCHUNG — Two students from Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung have been named winners at the Annual DuCret School of Art High School Students Art Show. The show is a highly regarded exhibit at the school in Plainfield. Over 470 students from 29 New Jersey public and private high schools were represented.

Junior Lauren Monaco of Westfield won second place for her piece called “Lotus Flower & Dragonflies” in the Mixed Media category and senior Kayla Pantano of Westfield won Honorable Mention for her piece called “Cow State of Mind” in the Drawing category. The students were honored in a ceremony at the exhibit on February 24. Other notable works by Mount students Erin Frazier of Basking Ridge, Caroline Gelinne of Westfield, Kathryn Nicusanti of Warren, Katie Murray of Millington, Allie Oross of Bernardsville, and Cecilia DeFurianni of Union are also on display at the exhibit.

Mount Saint Mary Academy is a Catholic, independent school which provides a college preparatory education for young women in grades 9 through 12.
