BASKING RIDGE – The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center located at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge will present “Roots, Rocks, and Relics,” an exhibit of the works of the Ridge High School AP Studio Art Class.
The exhibit will include drawings developed into large scale de-constructed and re-assembled images using charcoal, coffee as washes, and other non-traditional materials. In addition to the drawings the students produced new interpretations of fossils, using of clay. The sculptures will be incorporated into an installation relating to the drawings. This work has inspired the Ridge High students to dig into the concept of drawing and expand their repertoire of materials to present a very intriguing and surprising exhibition.
The Exhibit is open to the public at no charge from Thursday, March 1 through Sunday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
