BELMAR — The annual Belmar Restaurant Tour is returning to New Jersey’s popular beach town on Sunday, March 11, featuring more than two dozen of Belmar’s favorite restaurants, ranging from independent shops to established names. The tour gives residents and visitors alike a chance to sample a wide variety of creations from chefs at fine dining spots such as Brandl, Nicchio and Matisse on the Oceanfront, ethnic and specialty spots such as Kaya’s Kitchen, Kotta Sushi and Jersey Shore BBQ, seafood from Mr. Shrimp and Klein’s, local favorites Surf Taco, 10th Ave Burrito and Connolly Station, and much more.
“The Belmar Restaurant Tour is a great way for people to really check out Belmar’s many great dining choices,” says Chris Brandl, owner and executive chef of Brandl in Pyanoe Plaza and Jake’s Crab Shack on the boardwalk. “From fine dining, Mexican, barbecue, Cajun, seafood, pub style, pizza, Italian, sushi, bagels, desserts, people love the opportunity to check out the vibe and atmosphere of different restaurants and see how many different places they can sample in one day.”
Some of the tempting tastes that visitors will enjoy that day include mini cupcakes at Sweet!, buffalo tenderloin at Brandl, and hot chowder at the giant lemon at Jake’s Cakes on the boardwalk. Italian food aficionados can enjoy rigatoni Bolognese at Niccio Ristorante and chicken francaise and penne vodka at Federico’s.
Complimentary jitney service will circle Ocean Avenue, Main Street and the Route 35/Highway 71 corridor in Belmar so tour participants can hop on and off at locations of their choice. Additional parking is available in the Belmar Plaza parking lot, between 8th and 10th Avenues and at the Belmar Marina, just west of Route 35. The tour will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tickets are only $25 through Feb. 29 and $30 from March 1 to March 10. Any remaining tickets on the day of event will be available at Brandl, 703 Belmar Plaza for $35.
