Benedictine Academy Prepares For Spring Theatre Production, “Nunsense”

ELIZABETH–Auditions were held recently for Benedictine Academy’s (Elizabeth) forthcoming production of “Nunsense”. The play will be staged March 30, 31 and April 1 at the all-female Catholic college prep high school. Veteran Broadway actress Liz McConahay Wanfried (above), who is producing and directing the performance, displayed her usual energy as she prepped students (below), who were listening intently, about the auditions.

Wanfried (far left) speaks to students (l-r): Katrice Campbell of Irvington, Claudia Carmona of Lumberton, Ariana Taveras of Newark and Cynthia Pizarro of Elizabeth.

Cinthya Pizarro of Elizabeth, a senior at Benedictine Academy, is pictured taking direction from Wanfried during recent auditions for “Nunsense”. Pizarro sang two songs as she tried out for a key part in the play.

Benedictine Academy freshman Angelica Poselek (left) of Linden is encouraged by senior Cynthia Pizarro of Elizabeth as Poselek was awaiting her turn to audition for a role in the production of “Nunsense.” Tickets for the show can be purchased by calling 1-908-352-0670, ext. 105.
