RAHWAY – Rahway Republicans will screen candidates for the 2012 City Council election on Monday, March 5, at 7 p.m. at the Rahway Day Care Center, 1071 New Brunswick Avenue.
This screening process is open to Republican voters with a desire to run for a Rahway City Council seat in the specific ward in which they are registered. Any Democrat or Independent, ultimately willing to change their party affiliation to Republican when required is also invited to attend.
The committee’s first and foremost consideration is that any prospective candidate be a good citizen looking to improve Rahway. Solid professional and management skills are a plus. Any prospective candidates should recognize the need to improve the Rahway city government, according to local party chairman Patrick Cassio. “We are not looking for a status quo mindset. We require individuals with innovative ideas seeking to become part of a dynamic, courageous, and goal oriented political team working to create honest, open, and accountable government within the City of Rahway,” he said.
