CLARK — Fourth graders in Tara Filippini’s class at Valley Road School in Clark have been learning about nonfiction texts. In honor of Presidents’ Day, students worked in groups to read biographies about John F. Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington. While the students read in their groups, they searched for facts and opinions in the text. In the photograph above, Jordyn Marie Walsh, Yahiree Yoplac, Sophia Avila, Tyler Washington, and Aaron Jaruczyk are shown presenting facts and opinions from a biography of United States Franklin D. Roosevelt to the rest of the class. (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
