White House Staffers Have NJ Ties

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two members of President Barack Obama’s staff have ties to New Jersey.

Sparta native Colleen Curtis joined the White House staff as the director of digital content last July. She had previously held senior editorial positions at ABC’s Good Morning America, the New York Daily News, and the National Post.

Prior to taking the White House role, Curtis was the editorial director of Women’s & Lifestyle Programming at AOL, where she launched 15 websites. Curtis studied journalism at Boston University’s College of Communications and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Heather Zichal, deputy assistant to the President for energy and climate change, also has New Jersey ties. The Iowa native is a graduate of Rutgers University and has served as legislative director for two New Jersey congressmen, Rush Holt and Frank Pallone.
