CLARK — Fourth grade students at the Frank K. Hehnly School in Clark, under the direction of substitute teacher Jackie Grigoli, are beginning a shared reading by author Roald Dahl. To give students an opportunity to explore and investigate the life of this author, students worked in pairs with a laptop and a set of specific questions to answer. This author has his own website filled with a biography on his life and other activities to teach about his works. An activity like this is used to help students make connections between the author’s real life and the situations that occur in his stories. In the photograph above, fourth graders Jeffery Hilongos, Jenna Thornton, Casey Delaney, Evan Parenti are busy at work on their author study. (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
