CARTERET — Junior set-up bowler Kelly Daunno of Carteret has been named the New Jersey City University Women’s Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and seventh time in her career after pacing NJCU to a dominant effort at the Capital Classic. No. 10/10 ranked NJCU won its first 10 matches of the tournament and earned the #1 seed in the playoff bracket before falling in seven games in the finals.
Daunno, a 2011 Honorable Mention All-American, earned All-Tournament Team distinction with a colossal 20.647 frame average and a filled frame average of 90.4 percent (103-of-113), a strike percentage of 45.8 percent (60-131) and a spare percentage of 86.7 percent (52-60).
