NEW BRUNSWICK – The American Red Cross and Rutgers Recreation will be holding Sweetheart CPR on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 1-4:30 p.m. at Rutgers College Avenue Gym in New Brunswick. This Adult CPR/AED course is open to the public and offers up to 200 individuals the opportunity to learn the life-saving skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to use automatic external defibrillators (AEDs).
“People need to know what to do in an emergency situation,” said Kathleen Pearson, manager, American Red Cross Preparedness, Health and Safety Services. “CPR and AED training can provide the skills and confidence to step forward and act in an emergency.”
Participants will be certified in Adult CPR/AED by the American Red Cross on successful completion of this course. Those who attend the course will also receive a free T-shirt. The cost for the course is $40. A student rate of $10 is available to anyone age 16 or older currently enrolled in high school or college. School ID will be required at check-in for verification.
