TRENTON – New Jersey Department of Transportation officials announced that maintenance repairs to the Interstate 287 southbound bridge deck over the NJ Turnpike will require overnight lane closures tonight in Edison.
NJDOT’s bridge maintenance contractor, I.E.W., is scheduled to close the left and left-center travel lane on the bridge from 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 until around 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 to make priority repairs to the concrete bridge deck. The two right-most travel lanes will be maintained overnight, as well as access to all exit ramps.
At the eastern terminus of this bridge, I-287 southbound becomes Route 440 northbound.
Dynamic message signs will be utilized to provide advance warning of the closures. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org real-time travel information.
