Girl Scouts Raise Money For Animal Shelter

February 4, 2012

CLARK — On Saturday, Jan. 28, girls from Brownie Troop 40659, led by Carrie Velotti, Paula Louro and Maria Moricz, were helping homeless animals by collecting food and supplies to donate to local rescues and animal shelters. The third graders from Henhly School in Clark chose this activity as their community service project for the year.

Reggie, a recently rescued mixed breed dog from Rescue Connection, went along to the annual Girl Scout Fun Fair at the Clark Recreation Center to thank them on behalf of homeless dogs and cats. Ralph Bernardo, the recreation director, was kind enough to allow the dog to stay. While there, Reggie educated the girls on animal rescue, and became their honorary mascot for the day.
