Linden Police Blotter: Officers Arrest Suspects in Shoplifting, Stolen Vehicle Cases

All individuals arrested and charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.

Jan. 30 at 1:52 p.m. – Officer William Turbett III spotted a 2003 BMW operating at a high rate of speed on Chandler Avenue while on patrol. Upon checking the license plate, the officer learned the car had been reported stolen out of Elizabeth. The vehicle’s two occupants, Bashir A. Miller, 19, of Elizabeth and Steffie Lamar Bartley, 18, of Perrineville were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. Both were released on summons pending a court date.

Jan. 30 at 2:32 p.m. – Officers arrested Brianne L. Robinson, 43, of Winfield Park and charged her with shoplifting $1,226 worth of jewelry from Kohl’s on East Edgar Road. She was released on a summons pending a court date.
