At 9:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to the AC Fleet Trucking Co., 340 S. Stiles Street to investigate a report of a stolen tractor trailer. A company employee witnessed the theft and was following the stolen truck.

The State Police became involved and attempted to stop the truck when it was in the area near the Woodbridge Center Mall. The pursuit eventually returned to Linden on Routes 1 & 9 South. When the truck turned onto Commerce Road, a dead end street off the highway, it rammed a fence bordering the Rosedale Cemetery.

Three men got out of the truck and ran into the cemetery. Officers from the State Police, Linden Police, Union County Police and Union County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit converged on the cemetery, where the suspects were apprehended and placed under arrest.
