ELIZABETH – A Jersey City police officer working with the U.S. Marshal Service suffered a gunshot wound while on duty on North Broad Street last night, shortly after 10 p.m.
The officer was taken to University Hospital and was released a few hours later, according to a report at NJ.com. The officer was reportedly struck by a bullet accidentally discharged from his own weapon during the apprehension of a fugitive.
