CRANFORD — In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, local Enterprise Rent-A-Car branches in New Jersey sponsored the Enterprise Holdings Road to Literacy program through New Jersey After 3. To give back to the local community, Enterprise employees held a children’s book drive.
“We wanted to make a positive difference for the communities in which we live and work, especially on Martin Luther King Jr. Day,” said Erica Smutko, regional human resources manager at Enterprise. “What better way for us to do so than by joining forces with New Jersey After 3 and collecting books for local school children.”
Enterprise employees, customers and business partners donated more than 2000 new and used children’s books for reading levels K-8. These books were distributed at book fairs throughout New Jersey on Jan. 17. Several Enterprise employees also volunteered at their local book fairs.
