CLARK — Students in Paula Spence’s first grade class at Valley Road School in Clark learned about civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. and his lasting legacy. Spence initially read the class a picture book about Dr. King’s life. She then used this as a springboard to teach about his leadership in the civil rights movement and his lasting contributions to society.
