Red Hot Chili Peppers To Play At “The Rock”

NEWARK – Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced additional dates to their upcoming I’m With You World Tour. The band will be at the Prudential Center on Friday, May 4. This concert in Newark marks the band’s only appearance in the New York/New Jersey area.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are touring in support of their current album I’m With You, the 10th of their career, which has received a Grammy nomination for “Rock Album of the Year.” The album expands the same combination of funk and finesse, intensity and tenderness that’s made the Peppers sine qua non in modern rock, but with a new set of life experiences from the intervening years that coalesced into a dynamically fresh start.

The 2012 arena tour will mark RHCP’s first full scale tour of the US since 2006–2007’s massive Stadium Arcadium run and their first with guitarist Josh Klinghoffer taking center stage alongside singer Anthony Kiedis, drummer Chad Smith and bassist Flea. One of the most successful bands of the last three decades, Red Hot Chili Peppers has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide.

Tickets are $63 and go on sale at Saturday, Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. via, Charge by Phone (800-745-3000), and any Ticketmaster retail outlet. If tickets remain, they will be available for purchase at the Prudential Center box office starting on Monday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m.
