NEW BRUNSWICK – The New Jersey State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division is asking middle and high school students to film their own Law Day video and enter the fourth YLD’s Law Day 2012 YouTube Video Contest.

“The Young Lawyers Division are hosting a video contest to reach out to students and engage them on an important current topic as well as provide another avenue to help educators reach out to their students,” said Jeffrey Neu, Esq., chair of the video contests for the young lawyers group of both the state bar association, and American Bar Association.

This year’s theme is “No Courts, No Justice, No Freedom.”

The State Bar’s YLD is also participating in the American Bar Association’s Law Day contest by entering its top high school winners in the ABA competition, where the top four national finalists will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC for the Law Day 2012 festivities.

“It’s a great opportunity for our high school students to get national recognition for their creativity,” said Neu. “And the contest itself is an opportunity for students to stretch their imagination as they interpret the Law Day theme,” said Neu.

The deadline for entries is Feb. 15. The winner will be announced on April 1, and the winners will be invited to an award ceremony at the state capital, Trenton, New Jersey.

Entries will be posted on the State Bar’s YouTube page,, and cash prizes awarded to the top winners.

Full contest details with registration and permission forms, and a link to upload video entries are available at
