Scotch Plains Students Wins Wardlaw-Hartridge AMC8 Math Competition

EDISON — The results are in and the winners of the 27th annual American Mathematics Competition for eighth graders (AMC8) were announced at Middle School lunch on Jan. 10. ┬áChristine Cerminaro, Middle School mathematics teacher, presented certificates to the top three finishers in the competition.

Max Needle of Scotch Plains was the winner, while Sonali Shah of Edison finished second and Christopher Zdenek of Westfield took third. Eighth graders participated in the competition on Nov. 21.

Last year, the AMC8 involved over 150,000 students worldwide. The AMC8 is designed to challenge and inspire students to learn more about mathematics.
