BERKELEY HEIGHTS — National Health Information and Technology Week was recently recognized by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. This annual event recognizes the work of health information management professionals who maintain and protect health information. The theme for this latest recognition was “Accurate Health Information for Care You Trust.”

“The professionals in Runnells Specialized Hospital’s Medical Records Department protect the privacy of patients and their information, ensuring health information is complete and only available to authorized users,” noted Union County Freeholder Mohamed S. Jalloh.

Runnells is known for compassionate care. The Skilled Nursing/Long Term Care Center features programs including skilled physical, occupational and speech therapies; secure units devoted to the care of individuals with dementia/Alzheimer’s-type illness and hospice/Comfort Care. Respite Care is also available. The Rehabilitation Center has a sub acute unit; care for the loss of physical functioning and/or medically complex conditions as well as an outpatient therapy program.

The facility is located at 40 Watchung Way, Berkeley Heights.
