CLARK – The Clark Girls Softball League (CGSB) announced that winter registration for the 2012 season will be held on Sunday, Jan. 15. Registration will take place at the Brewer Recreational Center (Clark Municipal Building) from 6-8 p.m.

The league is open to all girls in grades K-8, who reside in Clark, Garwood and Winfield, or who attend private school in Clark Township. The 2012 season is slated to begin in mid-March and runs to early June.

CGSB President Bill Smith cites the 2011 season as one of the league’s most successful, with over 300 girls participating on 28 teams. “Last season we saw a growth in all areas of the association, not only on the field, but in the stands too. And, we are looking forward to building on the success of this past season by increasing the number of teams in each division, especially the instructional division (grades K-1),” said Smith.

Additionally, the league is hosting winter instructional clinics on Jan. 15, 22 and 29 in the front gym of the recreation center. The clinics begin sharply at 6:30 p.m. and will run for about an hour. The girls will go through a series of hitting, fielding, and field safety drills.

Registration forms can be obtained at the time of registration or from the CGSB website – www.eteamz.com/CGSB. For any questions regarding the registration process, instructional clinics or if you are a business interested in sponsoring a team or wanting a billboard display, contact William Smith at William.F.Smith@verizon.net
