Police Investigating Death Of Man Found In New Brunswick Park

NEW BRUNSWICK – Police are investigating the death of a New Brunswick man who was found dead today in a city park, the victim of a shooting, Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department announced.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld at this time, was pronounced dead at 7:15 a.m. at Pittman Park on Handy Street in New Brunswick.

The results of an autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined he died after being shot.

An investigation by Detective Drew Weiss of the New Brunswick Police Department and Investigator Michael Daniewicz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is continuing, but no arrests have been made according to authorities.

The investigation began after a passerby saw the victim and called 911 at 6:46 a.m.
