Suspect Shot At End Of Police Chase

ROSELLE — The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a police-involved shooting that happened in Roselle Sunday morning, according to Union County First Assistant Prosecutor Albert Cernadas, Jr.

According to the investigation, members of the Linden Police Department chased a stolen vehicle into Roselle just after midnight on Jan. 8. The vehicle crashed in the area of the 400 block of 15th Street and one suspect fled the vehicle, Cernadas said. Officers pursued and during a struggle with police, the suspect was shot in the arm. The suspect was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injury, according to authorities.

No charges had been filed as of yesterday afternoon, according to Cernadas, and the investigation was continuing.
