UNION COUNTY — Union County College basketball player Bianca Partlow (shown above) is currently nationally ranked in two categories. She is #2 in the nation in steals with an average of 4.9 per game. Partlow is also ranked #24 in the nation in assists with an average of 4.9 per game. The Lady Owls are ranked #5 in the nation in points allowed per game, as they limit opposing teams to only 48 points per game.
Lady Owls Have Comeback Game Over Harcum College
On Thursday, Jan. 5, the Union County College Women’s Basketball Team had to stay focused in order to be successful over Harcum College. The Lady Owls went into halftime trailing 28-31 and turned the game around in the second half to add another win, 80-69 to their 12-1 season. Bianca Partlow scored 19 points, had 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brittany Baker scored 18 points, had 14 rebounds, and 4 assists. Adirah Banner had 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Quianna Trawick added 12 points and had 6 rebounds. The Lady Owls will host Ocean County College in the Gym located on the college’s Cranford campus, on Saturday, Jan. 7, at noon in the first game of a Women’s /Men’s doubleheader.
Men’s Basketball Drops Game to Raritan Valley
Also on Thursday, Jan. 5, the Men’s Basketball team had the game tied at 31 going into halftime, before getting into scoring trouble in the second half. The Owls lost to Raritan Valley Community College by a score of 68-80. Jamal Salaam scored 14 points, Shaq Mitchell had 15 points, and Abner Thelisma had 13 points. The Owls are now 5-10 overall and will host Ocean County College on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 2 in a Women’s /Men’s doubleheader.
