ELIZABETH–The School of the Garden State Ballet traveled to Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth just before Christmas to stage “Nutcracker Sweets”, a unique sampling of Tchaikovsky’s beloved work. Three Benedictine Academy students who are members of the ballet company, participated.
Senior Crismeldy Segura (Newark), and juniors Norky Diaz (Newark) and Heidy Isabel (Bloomfield), who all also happen to be cousins, have been members of the School of the Garden State Ballet for nearly eleven years. They amazed all present with their talent and professionalism. The performance dazzled everyone and brought joy to the entire student body, faculty and staff, who watched with great enthusiasm.

The company of the School of the Garden State Ballet began its performance with the “Party Scene” from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker”, staged at Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth prior to Christmas. Three Benedictine Academy students are members of the ballet company, which is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of promoting and appreciating dance.
