Union Catholic Students Made It To Semi-Finals In Princeton Forensics Meet

SCOTCH PLAINS – The Union Catholic High School Forensics Team attended Princeton University’s 15th Annual Princeton Classic High School Forensics Tournament from Friday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Dec. 4. Twenty students were taken to the tournament.

Union Catholic met with great success as senior Annie Cierpial and junior Katie Brown made it to the semi-finals in Original Oratory, the first time in school history that two students broke in this category. Cierpial’s piece was entitled, “(Day) Dream On” and Brown’s, “If Ya Ain’t First, Ya Last”.

The Union Catholic Forensics Team is led by coaches Edward Sagendorf, Sean Gaynor, Dave Luciano, John Rotondo, and Julius Gottilla. This fall, the team as a whole has come in fifth place at the Milburn High School meet, second place at the Union Catholic High School meet, and third place at the Basking Ridge meet.
