RAHWAY — On Dec. 14, members of the Rahway High School Madrigal Choir and their director, Donald Pannell journeyed to Newark’s basilica, Sacred Heart Cathedral, to join in the annual carol sing. The Cathedral Choir and Instrumental Ensemble performed and students had the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Cathedral, considered to be the finest example of neo-Gothic architecture in the Western Hemisphere. This carol sing began 41 years ago when the featured performer for a planned concert in the Basilica was delayed by weather, so the conductor led the audience in a selection of songs.
