EDISON — Mayor Antonia Ricigliano, the Edison Municipal Council, and the Edison Recreation Department will be joined by community, family and friends at Edison’s Annual Festival of Lights Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m.
This special holiday event is once again being staged inside the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. As in past years, the history and origin of Chanukah will be told while specially invited guests light the Township Menorah. The entire community is invited to this celebration.
Immediately after participating with Ricigliano in the Menorah Lighting Ceremony, all those in attendance are invited to join the reception at the community center. Music will be provided throughout the evening by Tuvia Zimber. Refreshments will be served while children’s magician entertainer, Tom Durnin, provides comedy and magic along with audience participation. There will also be a children’s holiday craft table.
Edison will be accepting non-perishable foods at this event, which will be donated to The Jewish Family and Vocational Services Food Pantry.
This holiday event is co-sponsored by the Edison Recreation Department and Dorothy Rubinstein, Executive Director of the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County.
