Students Shine At Holiday Concert

EDISON — Festive tunes filled the air at the Wardlaw-Hartridge Upper School Holiday Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 7. The program included performances by the Brass Ensemble, MadJazz vocal group, the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir and newly formed Faculty Choir.

The Brass Ensemble opened the show with Deck the Halls and O Tannenbaum. MadJazz followed with My Spirit Sang All Day and I’ll Be Home for Christmas, featuring a solo by Ashley Martin ’12. The Concert Band played Amparito Roca, Victory at Sea Medley and Canadian Brass Christmas. The Faculty Choir sang Sleigh Ride and the Jazz Band played Doxy featuring soloists Alam Merchant ’13, Zubin Mulji 14, Matt Handzy ’15 and Vraj Patel ’12 and followed with Feliz Navidad.

The Concert Choir performed four songs: How Can I Keep from Singing?, Bashana Haba’ah, with a piano solo by Kim Son ’13, The Vacant Choir featuring a solo from Sarah Chalabi ’13 and trumpet by Alam Merchant ’13, and Dashing Through the Snow. The combined band and choir closed the concert with the traditional Hallelujah Chorus.
