Rahway Removes Crossing Guard Posts

RAHWAY – The city will eliminate two more school crossing guard posts effective Monday, Dec. 12.

The posts at Jefferson and Central avenues and Jefferson and Maple avenues are the ones slated for elimination.

Rahway cut two other crossing guard posts in October. At the time, Sgt. Dominick Sforza of the Rahway Police Department’s Community Services Bureau said that the department had conducted a study in 2010 to determine which crossing guard posts could be eliminated safely.

Parents may contact the Rahway Police Department Traffic Bureau at 1-732-827-2073 with any questions or concerns.
