Harper Lee was a woman from the south…

She recently was portrayed by Sandra Bullock in the movie “Infamous”, which revolved around her friendship with author Truman Capote, and the making of one of his classic masterpieces, “In Cold Blood”…

Harper Lee was also an author, but she only wrote one book…

Thankfully, it too was a classic masterpiece…it’s called “To Kill A Mockingbird”…and now, her life and the time revolving around this literary achievement are featured in a documentary that reminds us all of its importance…it’s simply entitled “Hey Boo”…

And, along with the novel, they also discuss the making of the movie version of her book, starring one of Hollywood’s most brilliant actors, Gregory Peck…

He plays the lead character Atticus Finch…he is someone everyone should know…but few do…

One reason…the film is in glorious black and white, a medium which is most often shunned by those of a younger persuasion…

But no matter what the age, no matter what the race, no matter what the day, this book is still important, as is the movie adaptation, for it follows the book faithfully…

So…if you can…share this film or this book with someone who may never have had the opportunity or intention of ever getting to know the strength of character portrayed by Atticus Finch, and then, see the documentary to witness the strength of character portrayed by Harper herself, who wrote a novel in a time that wasn’t ready for it, but certainly needed it…
