RAHWAY — As a culminating activity to the Earth Materials Science Unit, fourth grade students from Roosevelt School in Rahway visited Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg on Dec. 2. The industrial complex, which was once the Sterling Hill zinc mine, has displays of fluorescent minerals, extensive outdoor displays of mining machinery, and exhibit halls packed with related objects of interest. The students each received a souvenir box of rocks and minerals that they collected on the site.
