RAHWAY – Fourth grade students from Madison Elementary School in Rahway recently visited the Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum. (The students are pictured above with Ann Horner, a museum volunteer.) John Anderson, the original owner, built the tavern around 1795. Today it is a major landmark in Rahway. The students took a lengthy tour of the museum and the cemetery. They were fascinated by several of the dates on the headstones, which date back to the 1700s. (Photo courtesy of Madison School)
