South Amboy Announced Holiday Events

SOUTH AMBOY – City residents are invited to celebrate the holiday season, beginning with South Amboy’s annual tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 6.

The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at the Transit Plaza on Broadway. Santa Claus will arrive in the Christmas village at 6:30 p.m. to meet and greet local children. Their will be free hot chocolate, cookies, candy and holiday entertainment. The annual Fire/First Aide Holiday Parade will offer prizes for the best-decorated vehicle. South Amboy residents are asked to donate a non-perishable food item at this event.

The city is also holding a holiday home decorating contest. The first prize winner will receive $100 and a photo collage by Brian Stratton of “Scans And More.” Homes must be decorated by Dec. 10.

Residents can sign up for trolley tours of the decorated homes on Thursday, Dec. 15, starting at 7 p.m.
