Trudi’s Corner: Time Flies

By Trudi Cunningham

How many times have you put things aside, and when you may need it, you can’t find it and draw a blank? It’s not a question of age, as I told someone at one point, because I believe everyone runs into situations such as this.

I recently had a lapse of memory, as I had purchased a card of congratulations for a great grandson’s Confirmation in plenty of time to be mailed to Texas. For the life of me, I couldn’t remember where I had put it, because I didn’t put it in my usual place for particular cards. Fortunately, I did find it in time and also a retirement card for someone in the near future.

Talking about time, we’ve all heard the expression how time flies when you’re having fun, right? Believe me, I know about that, because I do remember some great ones. The only thing I can also comment on is the fact that the older one gets, the faster time seems to go. I had taken a trip to Atlantic City with a retiree group recently, and was in a conversation with several people near me. I had met them previously and knew them slightly. It’s amazing about the different subjects that came up in the two-hour ride and everyone had a different view of certain things. Believe it our not, you can always hear something new if you pay attention, and possibly learn by it, whether it be in regards to a family problem, maybe cooking, or a shopping experience, etc.

It was the nicest ride for me in a long time, especially when one person remarked to me how fast the time had gone. Oh yes, that was the time I did come home with a few extra bucks. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It worked out for me, because I didn’t do the cooking. What’s better than that?
