RAHWAY — Deborah Prakapas, a fourth grade teacher at Roosevelt School in Rahway, was recently awarded a grant from the Rahway Foundation for Excellence in Education. Expanding on a grant awarded by the RFEE in 1999 bringing Scrabble play to all fifth graders, Prakapas will now introduce the game to all fourth graders at Roosevelt School. While having fun playing Scrabble, the students will be improving their skills in spelling, vocabulary, math, dictionary use, spatial relationships, confidence, teamwork and critical thinking.
