PERTH AMBOY – A 36-year-old Woodbridge woman was arrested after she allegedly tried to fill a forged prescription for Oxycodone at a Perth Amboy pharmacy, police said.

On Saturday, Nov. 12, police were dispatched to Walgreen’s Pharmacy on Convery Boulevard on a report of a forged prescription, according to Perth Amboy Deputy Police Chief Benjamin Ruiz.

The pharmacist told officers that Cindy Blanchard came in earlier in the day and dropped off a prescription for Oxycodone, 120 count @ 30mg each. Upon contacting the doctor’s office to verify the prescription, it was determined that it was forged and that a pad was stolen from the doctor’s office.

Police Office Luis Perez then placed Blanchard under arrest, authorities said. Bail was set at $15,000 with no 10 percent option.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Blanchard are merely accusations. She is presumed innocent unless she is convicted in court.
