RAHWAY — Are you smarter than a third grader? That was the question students from Laura Lopez’s third grade class at Franklin Elementary School in Rahway intended to answer when they invited parents and relatives to compete in a fun game show-style challenge. The event, held on Friday, Nov. 18, was scheduled to coincide with National Education Week. Throughout the district, parents and guardians were encouraged to visit classrooms and take part in a variety of activities. For the fourth consecutive year in a row, students from Lopez’s third grade class were victorious, defeating the parents once again. It all came down to the last 500 point question, which the students quickly nailed to secure the win. (Photo courtesy of Franklin School)
