CLARK-Jacquelena Grigoli’s kindergarten class at Valley Road School in Clark recently learned about pizza making as part of a larger learning project. Under the direction of her supervisor, Janeen Allmendinger, and her principal, Joseph Beltramba, Grigoli initiated a Thanks-Sharing project, where children invited into class things or people for which they are thankful.

Grigoli modeled Thanks-Sharing by invited her father to her class. Mr. Grigoli owns a pizzeria in Somerset and he delighted the children with a discussion of pizza making. He even flipped the dough into the air! Grigoli shared with her students a children’s book she authored entitled, “Jacquelena’s Pizzeria.” Each student then folded a box and made their own pizza that they would bring home to cook. Afterward, everyone shared in some pizza that Mr. Grigoli had brought with him.
