Trudi’s Corner: Offering Thanks

By Trudi Cunningham

Many thanks for the kind words sent my way in regards to my column, and to the people I meet. Do you think God is sending us a message about obvious happenings? The morality, this day and age and spread worldwide, leaves much to be desired. How you live your life is your decision.

Do you really believe, that in so many instances, people are concerned and need to know about celebrities having babies out of wedlock, plus so many other situations? There are so many more worthwhile things and reports that can make you think that all is not lost.

Now we have the story about the coach and his downfall. What took so long for it to surface? Just asking. I have a habit of saying “I’ve been around the block a few times” at my age, but it never fails to amaze me when I read about so many “weirdos and sickos” and situations that can turn your stomach.

The best we can do is keep track of the children and stay on top of questionable actions. I may have been a nag where my children were concerned, and had to put my foot down at times that they resented and didn’t always get wise to something until later on, but I was never sorry. They were my responsibility and it was not my way to back off in the discipline department.

Late, but not forgotten, thanks and appreciation to living and deceased members of our military families in defense of our country and to my husband who had served in the Navy in the Pacific theater. He later was post commander of Argonne Post #6 that had many notable citizens from Elizabeth as members. I’m sorry to say that so many have passed away and it was disbanded because of lack of interest.
