‘Cinderella’ Visits Mother Seton This Weekend

CLARK — Students at Mother Seton Regional High School, Clark, will be performing in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings, Nov. 18 and 19 and on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.

Catherine Serzan of Westfield, portrays the lead role of Cinderella and Kenneth Marples of Elizabeth has the lead role of the Prince. Katherine Newton of Middlesex portrays the Queen with Ryan Durkan as the King. The role of the Godmother is played by Hannah Clark of Scotch Plains, and the stepmother is played by Brianna Skuriat of Linden. Cast as step-sisters are Bianca Bailey of Orange and Patricia Rosato of Woodbridge. Stage managers for the production are Taylor Aljian of South Plainfield and Juliana Balabusta of Linden.

The production is under the direction of Kassie M. Lagua, an alumna of Mother Seton Regional High School. While a student at Mother Seton, Lagua starred as “Cinderella” in the 2005 production. She currently teaches Pre-K3 at Saint Theresa School in Kenilworth. Steven J. Pierinelli is the musical director. Presently he is employed as a music teacher for the Diocese of Paterson. Partial funding is made possible by a HEART Grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Costumes are under the direction of Carol Henderson and her committee. Choreography is under the direction of Victoria Marples, Mother Seton Class of 2012.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students and $8 for children under the age of 12. Tickets may be purchased from Mother Seton students or directly from the school by calling 1-732-382-1952. Tickets will also be available at the door.
