WASHINGTON, D.C. – Refueling with lowfat chocolate milk after a tough practice can give squads another reason to cheer. Actress, singer and former TV cheerleader Ashley Tisdale partnered with the National Milk Mustache “got milk?”® Campaign and American Cheerleader magazine to launch the “Be Strong” Challenge. The program highlights how lowfat chocolate milk can help cheerleaders refuel and replenish after a tough practice or competition and help them “Be Strong” for the next workout.
In August, Tisdale unveiled her own Milk Mustache ad and kicked off the search for a cheer squad that would have the chance to star in their own “got milk?” ad and win $5,000 for their team. From September through Oct. 12, cheerleaders across the country entered the “Be Strong” Challenge by submitting a custom video that showed how recovering with chocolate milk helps rebuild and replenish their team at AmericanCheerleader.com/BeStrong.
Now, a panel of judges has selected the top 20 finalists from teams across the country. Kenilworth cheer squad, Central Jersey Allstars, has a shot at starring in a national got milk? ad appearing in the May/June 2012 issue of American Cheerleader. Fans across the country can vote for their favorite cheer squad at AmericanCheerleader.com/BeStrong . For every vote, $1 will go to Cheer for a Cure to help raise funds for those touched by cancer.
