RAHWAY – The Rahway Veterans Central Committee will host a Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the monuments at St. Georges Avenue and West Grand Avenue. The ceremony will be dedicated to those who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of their country.
Mayor Rick Proctor is scheduled to present a wreath from the city and welcome all those who attend the ceremony. Members of the American Legion Post 5 and Post 499, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 681, Catholic War Veterans Post 361, Vietnam Veterans of America, Purple Heart Chapter and the ladies auxiliaries of the veterans posts will also take part.
The Rahway High School Marching Band will play and the Rahway High School Marine JROTC will present the colors. American Legion Post 499 will fire a rifle salute and Taps will be played by the high school bugler.
Pastor Margay Whitlow of the Zion Lutheran Church of Rahway is scheduled to give the invocation and benediction.
