CARTERET- Carteret Council members Susan Naples and Randy Krum both won a 4th term to Borough Council in a landslide victory last night. With all precincts reporting, the incumbent Democrats have beaten Republican challengers Steven Pinchak and Kevin Urban by a margin of 70 percent – 30 percent.
Speaking to a crowd of supporters, Naples declared the victory a “mandate from the voters to continue with our agenda. This overwhelming support is a clear message from the voters that we are moving in the right direction towards a ‘Better Carteret.’ Together, as a team of residents and elected officials, we will continue working to revitalize our community.”
Krum continued, “In the last few years, we have taken great strides in our town towards the better Carteret our residents deserve. Under Mayor [Dan] Reiman’s leadership, Sue and I will work even harder towards our shared goal of keeping Carteret a great place to call home.”
Reiman also addressed the crowd. “Sue, Randy and I were first elected in 2002 on the promise of building a ‘Better Carteret.’ With the support of our fellow residents, we’ve been able to do just that. Carteret has come a long way over the past nine years, but there’s still more to be done. With Susan Naples and Randy Krum back on the council, we’ll be able to continue with our good-government initiatives and utilize the limitless potential that Carteret has to offer.”
Naples and Krum have served on the Borough Council since 2003.
